Clinton defiant as accusations pour in
Article Abstract:
President Bill Clinton continues to deny that he had an improper relationship with Monica Lewinsky. He has refused to comment on rumours that he coached Betty Currie, his personal secretary, in what she should say when giving evidence about him to independent prosecutor Kenneth Starr. It is reported that she did not follow Clinton's instructions to tell Starr's inquiry that Clinton and Lewinsky were never alone together. She is thought to have told the inquiry that the two were alone sometimes, but always within earshot.

'You'd think the boy would learn.' Will this be the one to break Bill Clinton?
Article Abstract:
President Bill Clinton's future seems uncertain as a result of secretly taped telephone conversations indicating that he had an affair with White House aide Ms Lewinsky and then put her under pressure to lie about the affair in sworn testimony in Jan 1998. This case will be closely linked with that of Paula Jones, who has a sexual harassment lawsuit against Clinton. He now seems to be in serious difficulties, and friends and former close associates have been unwilling publicly to support his denials.

'The cover story,' Monica Lewinsky told her friend, 'is what I signed up for when I signed up for the relationship' But according to the special prosecutor, it was all on tape. Can anything now save the man she called 'the big he'?
Article Abstract:
Former White House secretary Linda Tripp secretly recorded conversations with former White House aide Monica Lewinsky which indicate that President Bill Clinton had an affair with Lewinsky. The alleged affair would not have come to light if Tripp had not gained the trust of Lewinsky, who had been determined that it should remain a secret. The tapes of the conservations are now being studied by special prosecutor Kenneth Starr.
