Come off it Nicola, who are you trying to kid?

Article Abstract:

Nicola Horlick, who came to public attention in early 1997 when she was dismissed from an extremely well paid job at Morgan Grenfell, seems to have organized her life in an ideal way. She is able to pursue a rewarding career, but also has a stable home life, enjoying the full support of her husband. She believes that her children are not suffering because she works, and states that she would give up working if she though her children were suffering. In adopting this stance, she is failing to acknowledge the realities of being a working mother, particularly that her children must inevitably miss her.

Teen love gets serious

Article Abstract:

It has become relatively common in the UK for girls to have their first sexual experience at the age of 14. However, the vast majority do not use any form of contraception. One in 10 girls under the age of 15 make contact with a family planning clinic, according to the Dept of Health, but less than half of these actually seek advice on the Pill and other methods of contraception. The UK has the highest level of teenage pregnancies in Europe, prompting the government to set up two working groups on the issue.

Can Cornwall survive the solar eclipse?

Article Abstract:

It is anticipated that up to 4 million people could travel to Cornwall, England, to view the total eclipse of the sun due to take place there on Aug 11, 1999. Some observers believe that this could place the county under such strain that roads will become severely blocked and essential services, such as water and sewage, will fail. However, others are more optimistic, believing that the total eclipse will offer Cornwall, the poorest county in the UK, a valuable opportunity to market itself.
