Don't ask 'why,' ask 'how.'

Article Abstract:

The Tate Gallery in Liverpool, England, is currently staging an exhibition entitled 'Richard Deacon: New World Order.' Deacon's sculptures rarely use straight edges, with his shapes generally being curved or bobbly. The joins are deliberately visible. They cannot be described as abstract, but are not strange or humorous either. The sculptures exhibited here give a clear insight into how different 1980s sculpture was from what has become prominent in the 1990s.

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the popularity of contemporary art shows in the UK are discussed. Some shows attract only relatively small numbers of people, but this does not mean that it is necessary to be negative about the state of contemporary art.
