Escape from hell mountain

Article Abstract:

Mont Blanc seems to offer extremely attractive skiing opportunities. However, reaching the top of the mountain can be a rather frightening experience, especially the last stage of the journey in a small cable car. It can become extremely crowded just near the summit, and this in itself can be very alarming for the inexperienced skier. It is vital to go with a guide, even though the skiing may initially seem to be undemanding. It may be worth considering a less crowded skiing area, such as the resort of Pila.

The life of spice

Article Abstract:

The island of Zanzibar, which used to be a centre for the spice trade, has exotic connotations but remains largely undiscovered by tourists. Stone Town, the island's capital, is rather unattractive, but its small hotels are interesting. Local people are poor, and tourists therefore attract a great deal of often unwanted attention. However, Zanzibar has beautiful beaches, and it is particularly worth visiting Changuu, an island 20 minutes by motor boat from the main island of Zanzibar.

White art in the Alps

Article Abstract:

The Portes du Soleil skiing region, which covers both France and Switzerland, is made up of many villages and towns, and offers 420 miles of pistes and 228 lifts. The climate there can be rather variable, and skiing in poor conditions can be difficult. However, skiing there can also be very satisfying, as it gives the feeling of having travelled from place to place. The different parts of the region offer many different atmospheres.
