Faith healing without the religion

Article Abstract:

It was hard for Irish people to accept a form of healing which was not associated with religion, according to Tom Griffin, who with Michael O'Doherty devised Plexus therapy. However, they have now been able to establish clinics across Ireland, and have treated around 100,000 people since 1987. Plexus therapy is based on bio-energy, a life force which O'Doherty believes can be photographed and measured electrically. Griffin believes that bio-energy healing can help even in the case of devastating experiences such as bereavement.

When office pranks ruin your life

Article Abstract:

There have been many sexual harassment cases over recent years, but it is still common for crude sexual jokes to be made in the workplace. These can be harmless if they are accepted by everyone involved. However, in some cases, the situation can become serious, especially if claims of indecent assault are then made. This is what happened to shop worker Jonathan Morris, who believed that he was indulging in harmless fun with female colleagues but then had to face a court case.

The habit broken, but not the home

Article Abstract:

Wellmeadow House in London is an innovative project for women drinkers with children, but is under threat because of government funding changes. The hostel was set up by the Alcohol Recovery Project (ARP) so that women with drink problems could be treated without leaving their children. The original Hostel Deficit Grant from the government has been changed to the Special Needs Managmenent Allowance which reduces ARP's grant for hostels putting them under threat of closure.
