Hamas hero returns to haunt Arafat and Bibi

Article Abstract:

Israel has been forced to release Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, the spiritual leader of Hamas, the Islamic militant organization, in order to secure the release from Amman, Jordan, of two Israeli agents who were taken prisoner when they made a failed assassination attempt on Khalid Meshal, a Hamas leader. Yassin has gained great popularity, and his prestige is now close to that of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. He has denied that there is any conflict between Hamas and the Palestinian Authority.

Curse of ancient Babylon claims 13

Article Abstract:

The theft of a golden Babylonian statue from the Iraqi museum in Baghdad, Iraq, has led to a series of murders. It is believed that the statue, which is said to be worth at least $1 million, was smuggled into Jordan. The smugglers are thought to have stabbed Iraqi businessman Namir Ochi following a clash over profits from the sale of the statue in Europe. A further 12 murders then took place in connection with the theft. Six of the smugglers are now in prison in Jordan, and two are dead.
