Hidden desert marvels

Article Abstract:

Female visitors to Libya should take care to ensure that they dress appropriately, avoiding any clothes that show a lot of bare skin. Visitors are always accompanied, but they are not restricted in where they go. In some parts of Libya, time seems to have stood still, while in other parts there are signs of modern life. It is worth visiting Libya's town and city markets, where modern clothes and traditional hand-woven cotton and linen are available. Visitors should be aware that alcohol is strictly illegal.

The shop of the desert

Article Abstract:

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has many impressive new buildings, but visitors can also catch a glimpse of its ancient culture. The most interesting building in the city is the Fort, which now houses the historical museum. Dubai has a relaxed atmosphere, and tourists do not stand out because expatriates account for 80% of the population. There are many things to do in Dubai, including attending sporting events, visiting the beaches and sampling its many restaurants.

A quiet flowering of desert tourism

Article Abstract:

Saudi Arabia is gradually beginning to allow Westerners to enter the country as tourists. Those who do so will discover a culturally rich land where traditions have remained unchanged for generations. Western tourists entering Saudia Arabia from Europe are obliged to join an escorted tour, and are expected to respect local customs, particularly in relation to the role of women in society. However, it is still well worth taking the trouble to visit Saudi Arabia.
