How Hanan Ashrawi plans to build a nation

Article Abstract:

Hanan Ashrawai, formerly Yasser Arafat's spokeswoman, is now the head of the Palestinian Independent Commmission for Citizens' Rights. She has become a high profile public figure, and receives considerable media attention. She caused controversy by refusing a place on Arafat's National Council, choosing instead to form her own independent commission. She is now campaigning strongly for human rights, seeing this work as more important than gaining political power.

She admits that he is not totally innocent, but believes that the death sentence is not justified.
