It's only rock 'n' roll

Article Abstract:

It is impossible to separate art from politics, according to Israeli rock singer Aviv Geffen. He believes that there is a peace element to all his music, and uses music as a way of protesting about the current political situation in Israel. His outspoken views have gained him a number of enemies, and he has been obliged to leave Israel for his own safety. He has been strongly critical of the Israeli military, and refuses to be conscripted. This stance has made him a hero in the eyes of the followers of his Israeli youth movement.

Rovers return

Article Abstract:

Welsh-language speakers are the lowest social class in the UK, as they have had their identity removed, according to Richard Parfitt, singer with rock group 60Ft Dolls, whose members are Welsh. The group initially used its Welsh background to gain publicity, but abandoned this approach, moving to the US and hardly featuring on the music scene in the UK for almost two years. It has now returned to the UK and released a second album. Parfitt believes that this album is more eclectic and sophisticated that the group's first album.

Eating Crow

Article Abstract:

The life of a top rock and roll singer is not as glamorous as it may appear to outsiders, according to Sheryl Crow. She has thought about suicide in the past, and has problems establishing close relationships. She has suffered from the jealousy of others, and has received considerable criticism from some sources. This means that she now finds it hard to trust even people who seem to be close to her.
