Ladbroke joins offshore betting rush

Article Abstract:

Hilton, owner of Ladbroke, aims to extend offshore gambling operations, increasing staff at the company's call center in Gibraltar to 200 from 25. Other United Kingdom bookmakers are also expanding offshore operations. They cannot advertise in the United Kingdom, but can advertise through internet sites. Telephone gambling is likely to be most affected, and higher spending customers have already been attracted to offshore gambling, though only a small proportion of the total gabling market has been affected.
