Legal, decent, honest and banned from TV

The Independent Television Association (ITVA) banned the advertisement for Vespre Silhouette sanitary towels from Jan 01, 1993, after 334 complaints to the Independent Television Commission (ITC) during 1992. There were a further 366 complaints about sanitary protection advertisements generally, but this is the only advertisement banned. Viewers complained about the lack of intimacy, too much directness and offensive format. Product sales have quintupled.

Why we like a decent proposal

Article Abstract:

Most women still like to receive a traditional proposal of marriage, despite the rise of feminism and the fact that divorce is becoming increasingly common. Attitudes towards marriage have changed greatly over recent decades, but this has not been the case with views on how marriage should actually be proposed. In certain cases, it is now the woman who makes the proposal, but this is still quite rare.
