Marine life being massacred as the world's oceans are turning toxic

Article Abstract:

Parasites and viruses are affecting marine life as a result of huan activities, pollution and a warmer climate. This could lead to a reduction in the biodiversity of oceans. Sea water plants, sea mammals and fish have all been affected. There have been 34 cases of mass mortality with the death of 10% or above of a population since 1938, and most of these cases have occurred in the two decades to 1999. The Caribbean is one vulnerable area. The El Nino current has also occurred more frequently, and this has led to damage to coral reefs.

The terror is infectious

Article Abstract:

Scientists are becoming increasingly concerned about the growing number of cases over recent years where an apparently new infectious agent has arisen from unknown origins. Until recently, it had been thought that vaccines had the power to wipe out many viral infections, but it now seems that there are drug-resistant microbes and new viral diseases for which no cure has been developed. Scientists are now becoming aware that human diseases can never be wiped out completely.
