No more bingeing, no more dieting

Article Abstract:

Many people fail to lose weight by following diets because they have an addictive relationship with food. This finding is at the core of the approach taken by the Eating Less programme run by addiction counsellor Gillian Riley. Those who attend the five-week course are made aware that they will not lose a lot of weight very quickly. The main approach is to encourage them to change the way they think about food, developing a more healthy, balanced relationship with food.

It's spring, and thoughts turn to ... allergies

Article Abstract:

Allergies have been found to be associated with the antibody immunoglobulin E (IgE) which has an high-affinity for glycoprotein 'Fc receptor.' It was found that increasing levels of IgE causes an increase in the number of glycoprotein 'Fc receptors that escalates that allergen sensitivity of IgE-bearing mast cells. Hence, it is believed that preventing the increase of IgE will inhibit the activation of the primary mechanisms of allergies.

They laughed, they cried

Article Abstract:

Barry Sanders, who wrote 'Sudden Glory: A Brief History of Laughter' and Tom Lutz, author of 'Crying: A Natural and Cultural History of Tears,' agree that they find laughter plays a more significant role in their lives than crying. The latter seems to be manipulated by too many social and media situations that diminish the sincerity which motivates tears over anguish or sadness.
