Woman fights machismo by taking the bull by the horns

Article Abstract:

Cristina Sanchez, 21, was the first Spanish woman to fight and kill six bulls in a corrida. Many Spaniards believe bull-fighting should be a male preserve. Ms Sanchez's ambition is to become a fully-qualified matador of four- or five-year-old bulls up to 1,300 lbs. She won two ears for fighting three-year bulls. She has a male valet or sword boy to dress her in the traditional suit of lights. She needs to practice delivering the kill.

Sun, sea, sand ... and shanty town misery

Article Abstract:

Many residents of the popular Mexican resort of Acapulco find employment in tourism and related industries, but continue to live in extremely poor surroundings. Robbery, rape and murder are common, and the police are very unwilling to venture into these areas.
