Quality is the key to success

Article Abstract:

Chairman of Conquest Legal Marketing Richard Berenson launched the National Solicitors' Network of 170 members with fixed fee scales and minimum standards in 1992. Conquest investigates applicant firms' philosophy, standard of technology and skills. Mr Berenson considers the personal element important, and thinks the production line style leads to poor communication. The organisation seeks new business for its members. It produces a legal aid franchise pack, investigates will-making services and is setting up a mediation service for Alternative Dispute Resoultion.

Bound by agreement

Article Abstract:

Networks of lawyers are increasing, the most recent being the Quality Legal Group (GLG). Its members, mainly commercial practices, aim to meet British Standard 5750 by May 1994. The Legal Resources Group is also committed to quality but find the British Standard unsuitable for a people-oriented business. The Eversheds group merged into a national partnership to improve quality. LawNet, LawGroup UK and Law South are networks of groups of like-minded solicitors whichpromote professional development.
