It is vital that Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein is not permitted to acquire weapons of mass destruction. As long as he continues to seek to do so, the West must put strong pressure on him.

Issues raised by UK Prime Minister Tony Blair's meeting with Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat are discussed. It is argued that it is easy to acknowledge that the Palestinians must have a state, but it will be hard to convert that hope into reality.

The bombers don't want peace, they want chaos

Article Abstract:

The suicide bombers who attacked targets in Israel want to make a peace settlement impossible. It is in the interests of the whole world that the situation in the West Bank is resolved, and it may be possible to impose a settlement if President George Bush shows the political will to do so.
