The true face of America

Article Abstract:

The impeachment trial of President Bill Clinton and its outcome will not have a significant long-term impact on political life in the US. These developments have merely given an insight into modern-day America, indicating that power and money can be extremely influential and that the sexual harassment laws are compromised. It has been made clear that mistakes in the past do not prevent someone becoming a presidential candidate and that almost any indiscretion can be overcome.

Clinton blow as lawyers told to testify

Article Abstract:

Chief Justice William Rehnquist, the chief justice of the US Supreme Court, has ruled that deputy White House counsel Bruce Lindsey and special counsel Lanny Breuer must testify in the Monica Lewinsky case. Breuer has already attended the Washington District courthouse, indicating that the White House is not intending to defy the courts. Lindsey's testimony will be delayed because he is recovering from surgery. Both men are potentially important witnesses.

How Starr cornered the President

Article Abstract:

Independent prosecutor Kenneth Starr has subpoenaed President Bill Clinton to testify in the Monica Lewinsky case. Starr's decision suggests that either his investigation has failed to produce sufficient evidence and Clinton's testimony is a last resort or that there is third-party evidence that must be put to Clinton. Lawyers working for Clinton have no way of knowing whether Starr already has evidence of a crime.
