A three-dimensional network model for a low density fibrous composite

Article Abstract:

The mechanical behavior of fibrous material can be predicted by generating a three-dimensional network microstructure from probability density functions and analyzing the finite element models of the material's three-dimensional microstructure. This method may help in determining the elastic properties, failure mode and strength of fibrous composite materials through its microstructure model. Failure in the microstructure has corresponding heterogeneous effects on the composite material.

Knossos without Minos

Article Abstract:

The five-volume book 'Knossos North Cemetery: Early Greek Tombs,' by J.N. Coldstream and H.W. Catling examined the results of excavations on the Knossos North Cemetery, reportedly on of the most glamorous of Aegean Bronze Age places. It presented information about new facts and finds in a traditional arrangement. The book also discussed statistical measures on ranking the tombs either to the quantity or to the variety of objects placed therein.
