Analysis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) adsorbed on soot particles by Fourier transform laser microprobe mass spectrometry (FT LMMS): variation of the PAH patterns at different positions in the combustion chamber of an incineration plant

Article Abstract:

The stoker system of a 0.5 MW incineration pilot plant was used to retrieve combustion-related soot particles in their formation stage for use in an experiment. Fourier transform laser microprobe mass spectrometry was used to analyze the particles. The article is broken down into an introduction, a description of the experiment, and a discussion of the results of the study.

Morphological and chemical characterization of calcium-hydrate phases formed in alteration processes of deposited munipal solid waste incinerator bottom ash

Article Abstract:

Landfill samples were taken from a southern Germany solid waste incinerator, running at 1000 degrees Celsius, and used to study the exothermal heating of munipal solid waste incinerator bottom ash. The article is broken down into an introduction, a discussion of materials and methods used, and a discussion of the results. Various tables, charts and photographs accompany the article.

The Aegean Sea oil spill. 2. Temporal study of the hydrocarbons accumulation in bivalves

Article Abstract:

In this study, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons were found in the tissues of mussels, clams, cockles, and oysters in specific months following the Aegean Sea oil spill that took place in December 1992. The article is broken down into an introduction, a dsicussion of the experiment and its results. Various tables and graphs accompany the table.
