Article Abstract:
Because the Unix operating system is so difficult to come by for microcomputers, many Unix-compatible systems are being offered. Some of the systems are simply run-time systems with Unix-like functionality, while others provide many Unix software tools. Unix still shows many signs of its origins as a minicomputer operating system.

Calcification rates in corals

A study reported a higher rate of calcification in hermatypic (reef-building) corals than in ahermatypic species. Arguments for and against this finding are presented.
