Causal learning: an associative analysis

Article Abstract:

Causal knowledge may mediate the concordance between performance and judgments about the causal effectiveness of an instrumental action. Learning processes for retrieved cue representation can be seen as the opposite of those for presented cues, although this applies only when the within-compound association is a contiguous relationship.

Re-examination of the role of within-compound associations in the retrospective revaluation of causal judgements

Article Abstract:

Within-compound associations play a significant role in retrospective revaluation, which in turn suggests a function for associative processes in causal learning. Modified associative theories demonstrate how this process works.

Retrospective revaluation in humans: learning or memory?

Article Abstract:

Retrospective revaluation as it relates to associative learning theories is examined. Topics include the relationship between cues in memory, and a review of previous research in the area.
