A singular man

Article Abstract:

Dyson Appliances Ltd. has been described as the fastest growing manufacturing company in the UK. Much of the company's success can be credited to its founder, James Dyson, who is considered a local hero for his role in energizing employment in the area. The Dyson upright vacuum cleaner is currently UK's top seller with its unique looks and features. Success did not come easy to Dyson as he had to overcome difficulties, from his frustrations with the licensing operations in US and Japan, to his 5-year legal battle with a US manufacturer over his vacuum cleaner design patent.

Long haul at the sharp end

Article Abstract:

Most major UK manufacturers have cultivated a relationship with a single design firm despite the expectation that design consultancy services will be chosen based on each product. One example of this trend is the relationship between Prestige and Grey Matter that has grown significantly until Grey Matter is involved in the marketing as well as the design of Prestige products.
