Flow of treated effluent to generate electricity

Article Abstract:

Waste water treatment agencies in Southern Nevada are planning to build a pipeline to transport treated effluent to a new discharge point in Lake Mead. The 17 mi long pipeline will be worth $769 million and presents the opportunity to use the effluent flow to generate hydroelectric power due to the 400 ft elevation difference between Las Vegas and Boulder Basin.

Capitol achievement

Article Abstract:

A $105 million renovation and expansion of Virginia's capitol building solved the deterioration occurring on the structure and enhanced the utility of the building. An underground expansion and entrance was also added to the building's south side.

Century-old railroad crossing replaced

Article Abstract:

Construction crews are building the Boone High Bridge, a $43 milion replacement to the Kate Shelley High Bridge in Iowa. The new bridge will have two tracks and can accomodate trains traveling up to 70 miles per hour.
