Fluid approach

Article Abstract:

One of the consultancy services that British firm Applied Computing and Engineering offers is providing solutions to complex fluid power analysis problems. The firm utilizes Computational Fluid Dynamics technology which allows design improvements to be performed without disrupting production or requiring costly prototype testing. Cable manufacturer BICC Cables availed of the consultancy firm's services to solve a production problem involving the delamination of a two-layer coating.

A question of functionality

Article Abstract:

Licom Systems' AlphaCAM computer-aided manufacturing system has gained widespread acceptance in the manufacturing industry due to its ease-of-use and functionality. System features include a streamlined structure, pull down menus and dialogue boxes for easy learning as well as modules for applications such as 2D and 3D milling, punching and water-jet cutting. Two companies that have adopted the AlphaCAM system are described.
