Hearing spaces: David Tudor's collaboration on Sea Tails

Article Abstract:

In 1983 David Tudor collaborated with kite artist Jackie Matisse and filmmaker Molly Davies on a video film 'Sea Tails'. Notes and correspondence from the Getty Research Institute and interviews conducted with Matisse and Davies were used to reconstruct the collaborative process of making 'Sea Tails'.

David Tudor's Rainforest: An evolving exploration of resonance

Article Abstract:

'Rainforest IV' is David Tudor's large-scale performed installation of the 1970s which is one of his best works. 'Rainforest's trajectory is followed chronologically, the early versions of the work are focused upon and the collaborative development of 'Rainforest IV' is described.

David Tudor: The delicate art of falling

Article Abstract:

David Tudor's work and its influence on the work and thinking of people are discussed. Tudor demonstrated the basic principle behind 'Rainforest' by running a sine tone from an audio oscillator into a metal can using a device called transducer.
