Hubble's top 10

Article Abstract:

The 10 most riveting contributions and achievements by the Hubble Space Telescope which passed its 16th anniversary in space and is waiting for astronauts to refurbish it before it reach the end of its useful life as early as mid-2008 is presented. Some of Hubbles contributions are revealing the Great Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 Crash which split into about two dozen fragments forming a string of pearls, Death throes, a sunlike stars which are thought to die gracefully by ejecting their outer gaseous layers in a nonexplosive process that take about 10,000 years.

The star mapper

Article Abstract:

The latest launch of the European satellite, Hipparcus, proved historical, as it was able to come up with a list of more than 100,000 star distances with utmost precision. The satellite uses a detector to obtain information about stars which it has passed over while cruising in space.

Morphware

Article Abstract:

A new type of morphware, called magnetologic is built from layered metallic materials, each layer of which is magnetized to represent a digital bit. It could function as both a processor and a memory device as magnetologic stores the results of each processing operation.
