In a spin

Article Abstract:

The rotational molding process for plastics offers several advantages. These include shorter product to market time, reduced costs compared to conventional injection molding and the accommodation of a variety of design features and inserts. The process involves filling a mold with powdered and blended polymer. The mold is then rotated in a heated oven chamber to melt the powder which will coat the inside walls of the mold.

Putting Stem Cells to Work

Article Abstract:

Research conducted on embryonic stern (ES) cells are presented with analysis of the role it can play in future therapies. These ES cells would be used in cell and tissue replacement as they have the ability to conform to many different cell types. The dangers in using ES cells therapeutically are reviewed.

Putting a new spin on spider silk

Article Abstract:

Researcher Lynn W. Jelinski and his colleagues have provided new information about the supramolecular architecture of the silk fiber spun by spiders. They have also proposed a model of spider silk elasticity that assumes that Beta sheet growth is limited by glutamate and other bulky residues.
