Kenya's black Rhinos

Article Abstract:

The project focuses on gathering data on the distribution of rhinos and other large herbivores, including elephants, giraffes, and zebras, and measuring the condition of the vegetation on which these competing animals browse and graze. The project team Linus, Dr. Geoffrey Wahungu and Dr. Alan Birkett study the ecology and behavior of the black rhino in an enclosed savannah ecosystem.

Samburu: communities and water resources

Article Abstract:

The project maps water resources and assess human and wildlife use to avoid potentials conflicts. Using modem Geographic Information System (GIS) technology the research team could generate a digital map of the ecoregion detailing springs, rivers, pools, and dams and their seasonal variations, quality, and aquatic biodiversity.

Samburu: Zebras

Article Abstract:

The project aims to establish the ecology and habitat use of endangered Grevy's zebras to limit impacts from human activities. The project team Dr. Paul Muoria, Joseph Kirathe, Dr. Daniel Rubenstein and Dr. Nick Oguge determines the population status and habitat needs of Grevy's zebras.
