Nature by design: How to naturescape your yard into an urban Eden

Article Abstract:

Information about naturescaping or creating a habitat providing the four basic elements that wildlife requires for survival and reproduction, for converting the yard into an urban Eden is provided. Selective plantings of trees, native plants and structural attractants such as water gardens, bird rest boxes can be used after careful planning, to attract wildlife offering biodiversity in the naturescaped yard, precautions to be heeded are also outlined.

Howling with optimism: fate of eastern wolves outside park boundaries promising

Article Abstract:

Scientific research has demonstrated that the population in Algonquin Provincial Park is significantly declining due to hunting and trapping outside park boundaries. Steps taken by Ontario's Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) to permanently protect Algonquin Park, the largest protected area for eastern wolves in North America, beyond park orders would help ensure the survival of this population.
