Nature's Subsidies to Shrimp and Salmon Farming

Article Abstract:

Many traditional fishing sources have become diminished, but at the same time fish farming has grown to meet most demands. Fish farming production doubled between, 1986-1996, but there are some environmental concerns about this growth. A survey of the environmental impact of salmon and shrimp farming is presented.

Building a scientifically sound policy for protecting endangered species

Article Abstract:

The pending reauthorization of the Endangered Species Act necessitates analysis of effective methods of protecting biodiversity. Both individual species and ecosystem must be protected, but the system can be improved, perhaps by enforcing codes with incentives rather than penalties.
