Scaling the icy peaks

Article Abstract:

Ice ages are thought to be linked to changes in the orbit of the earth, and can be measured by testing for heavy oxygen levels in sediment from under the sea. Links between oscillations and heavy oxygen do not show a pattern, and changes affecting the plane of the orbit of the earth have also been suggested as causes of ice ages. University of North Caolina's Jose Rial has found three separate cycles which are linked to the oxygen cycle. A 413,00 year cycle is linked to frequency modulations, Rial argues.

Form an orderly queue

Article Abstract:

Queuing customers quickly become irritated if they are uncomfortable whilst waiting for an entertainment ride. Major attraction operators have overcome this by offering a variety of pre-show entertainments involving three-dimensional graphics and live entertainers. Pre-show entertainment is best received if it relates to the overall theme of the main attraction. Crowds dislike queues over 42 inches wide because queue-jumping occurs.
