Scientist Steven Pinker's radical views on cognitive science and other related academes have made him a perennial object of criticism. Pinker's theories dwell on the assumption that man has an inborn facility for language, which he unconsciously tests through the course of time.

Chemical engineering experts have developed an innovative means of increasing the standby power capabilities of portable electrical appliances through the use of fuel cells. These batteries, which are economical and easy to use, provide power 50 times the conventional cells.

MIT researchers have developed a microwave frequency device that is capable of blocking the passage of light by allowing it to pass through microscopic holes. The structure may point to alternative means of producing lasers and fiber optic communication equipment.
