Profiling the Commission for Environmental Cooperation

Article Abstract:

The Commission for Environmental Cooperation implements provisions from the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation. These companies are seeking compensation for the business losses they attribute to environmental regulations and policies passed in Mexico, Canada and the US. The decision to use the treaty's Chapter 11 provisions is seen by some to be an overly aggressive interpretation.
