Article Abstract:

A surprising number of engineering designers are not using computer-aided design software because they prefer to depend on traditional design methods when prototyping. Computer-aided design software offers many advantages over crafting techniques but artificial images, no matter how sophisticated, cannot replace real life models, according to designer Bruce Fenn. Design software packages are becoming more popular however.

Article Abstract:

Specialised Banking Furniture (International) Ltd together with Indes Design Consultants has created a new flexible dealing desk. Features include the accommodation of the space needs of existing full size screens and the flat screens of the future, ease of assembly, minimization of the number of screw fixings and reduced number of components for assembly. The new product can also be mass produced for reduced costs.
