A randomized clinical trial of outpatient comprehensive geriatric assessment coupled with and intervention to increase adherence to recommendations

Article Abstract:

Researchers conducted a study to examine the effectiveness of outpatient comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA) along with an adherence intervention on 15-month health outcomes. Their study concluded that CGA and adherence intervention can prevent the decline of functional and health-related quality of life among community-dwelling older persons with geriatric condition.

Multidimensional attitudes of medical residents and geriatrics fellows towards older people

Article Abstract:

Primary care resident's attitudes towards geriatric patients are examined along with dimensional analysis of internal consistency of instruments measuring these attitudes. A comparison of such attitudes between residents and geriatric fellows is also examined. On the whole, positive attitudes were observed in both the groups.

Development and validation of a geriatrics attitudes scale for primary care residents

Article Abstract:

A 14-item geriatrics attitudes scale was developed and demonstrated high reliability, validity and sensistivity to change among primary care residents. The attitudes of residents with a career interest in geriatrics and those with more medical trainings scored higher than those with less interest and less training.
