Contribution of informant and patient ratings to the accuracy of the mini-mental state examination in predicting probable Alzheimer's disease

Article Abstract:

The chances of improvement in predicting the Alzheimer's disease is determined by the addition of patient and informant ratings of cognitive difficulties in the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE). Results indicate that inclusion of informant ratings with MMSE significantly improved its accuracy in the prediction of Alzheimer's disease.

Influence of executive function on locomotor function: divided attention increases gait variability in Alzheimer's disease

Article Abstract:

The effect of cognitive function and divided attention on gait in Alzheimer's disease (AD) is evaluated. The results support the concept that persons with AD have significant impairments in the cognitive domain of attention and that locomotor function relies upon cognitive and executive function.
