Cataract surgery

Article Abstract:

Cataracts appear as part of the aging process but they can easily be removed in 45 minutes under local anesthesia. The cause for the dimming of the eye's lens is yet unknown, although elderly individuals can delay its onset by wearing protective glasses and controlling diabetes.

Surgery: reminiscing eases the stress

A study shows that elder people about to undergo surgery cope better before and after the operation if someone talked to them. They were also less anxious if they were given the chance to reminisce about their younger days.
