Feasible model for prevention of functional decline in older people: municipality-randomized, controlled trial

Article Abstract:

A study conducted to assess the benefits of an educational program for healthcare professionals working in primary care centers is presented. The program is designed to train these professionals on methods that will help the elderly persons in avoiding functional disability. It is concluded that such programs help in improving the functional ability of elderly and reduces mortality rates.

Tai chi and self-rated quality of sleep and daytime sleeping in older adults: a randomized controlled trial

Article Abstract:

The effectiveness of tai chi on self-rated sleep quality and daytime sleepiness in older adults reporting moderate sleep complaints is examined. A 6-month, low-to moderate-intensity tai chi program can improve self-rated sleep quality in older adults with moderate sleep complaints.

Improving physical function and blood pressure in older adults through cobblestone mat walking: a randomized trial

Article Abstract:

A clinical study proving the effectiveness of cobblestone mat walking on physical functions of elderly persons is presented. Cobblestone mat walking is also found to be effective in reducing blood pressure in elderly.
