Jack in the Box

Article Abstract:

Tom Clephame is an analyst who follows the paper industry. He believes that we are now moving into the earnings-driven stage of the paper cycle. Paper stocks are generally late-cycle stocks. He believes it is time to accumulate in two sectors within the paper industry. One is in the producers of lineboard, where there is a favorable supply-demand situation and the other is the entrepreneurial paper companies. These companies have created substantial, but not fully realized, share holder value through major strategic acquisitions using unconventional balance sheets. He believes the price of lineboard will be increasing by twenty percent a year. This industry is picking up because more cartons are needed as the economy improves and more items are bought. He makes several specific recommendations, discussing his favorite picks in detail.

Fax forward

Article Abstract:

Enhancements and new features are being incorporated into facsimile machines by their manufacturers as the market becomes more competitive. A new kind of facsimile machine, called plain paper machine, is set to replace the standard thermal paper facsimile machine. Unlike that of thermal paper machine, output of the plain paper machine do not fade, and are easy to handle and file since they are printed on cut sheets and not on rolled paper. Two types of plain paper facsimile machines, namely ink jet and laser, are available. The laser type is significantly priced higher than the ink jet type as they provide the best output. However, such advances in facsimile technology require a nationwide integrated services digital network. Detailed are 12 other issues relating to facsimile procurement, technology, and use.
