Community technology centers and bridging the digital divide

Article Abstract:

The Triangle Area Learning Centers in the Raleigh-Durham North Carolina area, which are gathered under the organization called The Triangle Area Centers for Technology, are evaluated. Raleigh-Durham is an innovative region known for housing many technology companies, making it an interesting area to examine in terms of how computer centers are reaching the poorer people in this community, who might not be benefiting from the area's technological richness.

A basis for the development of a socio-biology approach is established to understand the phenomenon of technological society and technical change that serves to bridge the gap that has grown between natural science and social theory. Other elements, including actor network theory, a methotheory of technology, and cognitive anthropology are explored before proceeding to consider the implications.

Does technology and innovation management improve market position? Empirical evidence from innovating firms in South Africa

Article Abstract:

The impact of technology and innovation management activities on the firms' market position and also, the innovative behavior of South African firms in manufacturing and services are investigated. The analysis has shown that conducting technology strategy activities and a combination of internal and external technology audits are beneficial for organizational performance.
