Embodied habitus

Article Abstract:

Each field of practical knowledge, or embodied habitus, is verbalized and transmitted in various ways, with differences in culture, language and sociological factors bringing forth a wide variety of 'local knowledges'. The plurality and incommensurability of embodied, practical knowledges, should be recognized and respected, because any attempt to systematize or centralize this diversity will result in sacrificing the rich localities of knowledge in the name of global knowledge.

Life, movement and the fabulation of the event

Article Abstract:

The vitalist theory of Bergson highlighting the fabulation of the living event through representation of life and evolution is presented. How movement is perceived as something life-like, and why the fabulation of life is a form of mediation is explored by analyzing the film 'Titanic' in relation to the notion of the fabulation of the living event.
