Perceived organizational support and affective commitment: the mediating role of organization-based self-esteem in the context of job insecurity

Article Abstract:

Perceived organization support (POS) has been shown to produce positive employee attitudes and behaviors at work, including job satisfaction, organizational commitment, attendance and intention to stay. POS is linked to employee affective commitment (AC) through organization-based self-esteem (OBSE). The role of OBSE in this link is explored by studying two Korean banks that were affected by the Asian financial crisis of 1997.
