Asthma inhaler misuse and substance abuse: a random survey of secondary school students

Article Abstract:

Middle- and high-school tudents who misuse asthma inhaler medication were found to be more likely to drink alcohol, binge drink, use marijuana and other illicit drugs, and to smoke cigarettes than students who used asthma inhaler medication only as prescribed.

Sources of prescription drugs for illicit use

Article Abstract:

The sources of four classes of abusable prescription medications used illicitly by undergraduate students are investigated. Strong evidences point towards the peers of the students as the source from where they obtain the abusable prescription drugs.
