Introduction and overview to "School-based education to counter crime and corruption: evaluation of the initial pilot curriculum for Baja California (Mexico) and San Diego County (USA)

Article Abstract:

A pilot program jointly designed in Mexico and the US to combat corruption was implemented in several cities' schools on both sides of the US-Mexican border. Thirty-six hours of instruction showed increase in students' abilities to accurately define criminal activity, how crime harmed society, and ways leading to organized crime.

The role of civil society in combating organized crime: Botswana's experience

Article Abstract:

Botswana established a directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime in 1994 that has made significant inroads toward preventing organized crime and political corruption. Tourism and wildlife management policies have shown the most improvement by involving civil society with these issues.
