Making schools meaningful

Article Abstract:

A point of view about the meaning of schooling experience of teachers and students was described. Analysis showed that there is a need to extend and deepen understandings of the human context of education which has a significant impact on the meaning of school experience. A commitment was made by educators to furthering the growth of children and adolescents. It was also suggested that the complexities of contemporary schooling require a sharing of professional knowledge and insights.

Identity and boundary tensions when educators and mental health professioanls collaborate: between wish and reality

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze a collaborative scheme called the Teacher Education Program, a certificate program which supports cooperation and collaboration between educators and members of the mental health profession for the development of teachers. The various conflicts and problems encountered during the history of the program were examined. The dynamics of interdisciplinary collaboration and reconceptualization of the program were also analyzed.
