Patient satisfaction with manualized versus standard interventions in a managed care context

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the manner in which managed care health plans deliver mental health services are examined, focusing on new treatment guidelines under managed care and client satisfaction compared to traditional mental health services. Topics include standardized group treatment, unstructured individual therapy, the need for empirical studies to underlie choice of treatment, the manner in which social work students should be educated about treatment options, and the importance of client self-determination.
