The decline of brands

Article Abstract:

The number of brands on US grocery store has tripled, since 1991with the US Patent and Trademark Office issuing 140,000 trademarks, 100,000 more than in 1983. Although companies have spent large amounts of time and energy introducing new brands and defending established ones, Americans have become less loyal due to increasing amount of information available about goods and services, making them more demanding and finally resulting into decline of brands.

Smarter than the CEO

American firms are neglecting their most valuable resource that is the collective intelligence of the organization due to the tradition of following the boss commands. The decisions proposed by the group of people at lower hierarchy post who are smarter than the CEOs in an organization are often neglected.
