The philosophy of the road in Brazil: lorries and their mottoes

Article Abstract:

It is possible to see the mottoes which are frequently painted on the back of lorries in Brazil as expressions of popular philosophy. More specifically, they represent a sub-culture among lorry drivers. An analysis of the mottoes seen most frequently indicates that the main themes include morals, love and sex, work and God. Many mottoes are directed at the casual observer, but some apply to the driver himself or to the lorry-driving community.

The yips in golf: Multimodal evidence for two subtypes

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to determine whether a model of two subtypes of yips is supported by evidence from a range of physiological, behavioral, and psychological measures. This study provides evidence in support of a model where classification of golfers with the yips, using their descriptions of their symptoms, provides a useful framework for the appropriate management of yips symptoms.

Spaced out

Article Abstract:

A man laments on all of the impending disasters that are menacing planet earth as he sits 93,000,000 miles from the sun. Thoughts of melting polar ice caps, killer bee swarms, and hand guns distress him as he whizzes around the galaxy. Wallowing in his misery, he notes that he is catching a cold.
