Calcaneal loading during walking and running

Article Abstract:

Large forces and calcaneal stresses are generated late in the stance phase. for the gait velocities analyzed, maximum loads occur at about 70% of the stance phase in walking. In running they occur at about 60% of the stance phase. Trajectories of the principal stresses, in walking and running, corresponded to each other and qualitatively to the calcaneal trabecular architecture.

Safety of chronic exercise in a rat model of kidney disease

Article Abstract:

Safety of ongoing exercise, treadmill running, has been studied in a rat model of polycystic kidney disease (PKD) and results support the safety of moderate exercise in PKD. The effect on bone mineral density was also studied in the rates, which were of the Han:SPRD-cy type. Additional research may show more benefits.

Influence of acute and chronic treadmill exercise on rat brain POMC gene expression

Article Abstract:

The influence of ongoing and short high-intensity treadmill exercise on rat brain of precursor molecule proopiomelanocortin (POMC) gene expression has been studied. It was found that changes in {POMC gene expression in response to the two-kinds of exercise vary with region of the brain.
