State of the coyote: three Montanans talk about war and peace between the West's two surest predators - coyote and man

Dave Nelson of the US Dept of Agriculture's Bureau of Animal Damage Control helps farmers with coyote problems if they are experiencing significant livestock losses. Don Forbes traps coyotes and believes that the practice had become more difficult although coyotes are more numerous.

They shoot sharks, don't they?

Shark populations are declining and many species may become endangered. Sportfishermen can avoid injuring sharks by using proper fishing techniques. Many fishermen have joined the Cooperative Shark Tagging Program that gathers information on sharks.

Recreational fishers are partly responsible for the excessive slaughter of sharks, but commercial fishers are also to blame. The National Marine Fisheries Service has developed a comprehensive shark-protection plan.
